Herbal Apothecary CSA
As part of our mission
to connect people with the seasons, plants and non-human nature around them, we are excited offer an herbal CSA in 2018! These herb shares will be made up of the herbs, roots and flowers straight from our farm in Orwigsburg, Pa, and crafted with care in our farm kitchen and apothecary. Each month we strive to create a unique, seasonal herbal bundle that will provide you with a range of flavorful products and wellness support for the whole family.
Your CSA purchase helps support our mission to see each and every one of our products through from seed to cup. The herb CSA shares are great for budding herbalists or foodies looking to expand their palette, as well as seasoned herb lovers and gardeners who are looking to delve deeper into the unique medicinal plants of our bioregion. You can buy a membership for yourself or as a gift to someone else!

Each herbal apothecary CSA share will include
a variety of unique teas, tinctures, syrups, and other seasonal herbal concoctions that we make up especially for our CSA members. We'll also include bulk herbs for you to experiment with at home, as well as some of our mainstay and most popular tea blends and tinctures, such as our Ocimum tea blend and Elderberry Syrup. By the end of the CSA, you'll have a whole medicine cabinet full of farm-fresh herbal goods and the knowledge to use them.
In order for you to get the most use out of every single item and deepen your knowledge of herbalism, we create a monthly newsletter that includes our favorite recipes or techniques as well as a bit of information about each of the herbs and products in your share. You can experiment with our recipes and try your own herbal medicine making at home! We also share some personal experiences from our farm and apothecary life and seasonal tidbits.
We grow 100% of what goes into our CSA shares - from seed to bottle!

From our 2017 CSA members...
"It has been such a pleasure and an honor be be a part of both CSA shares this year! Each week is a delight to try everything you send, and I so enjoy knowing the beautiful farm it comes from. Every single root, blend, or product has been delicious and beautiful. Being a part of the CSA has also been helping me stay up on my herbal knowledge, which I so appreciate."
"I've been using, wildcrafting, and/or growing herbs for myself and family since I was in my late teens (and I'm 68 now!). When I signed up I was a little tired of my old recipes and uses and I thought the CSA might inspire me to some new creativity. I also thought there was a possibility that it might just be the same ole, same ole. That certainly wasn't the case and I have been delighted since the very first package last summer. I've learned new uses for old friends, like that astonishing Chamomile shrub (still my all time favorite). I've learned new techniques, like the double infused with alcohol Goldenrod salve. I've explored some new-to- me exotic herbs like Ashwagandha and Spilanthes. And, through the newsletters, I've taken a deeper look at the herbs, both old and new, like learning that Goldenrod is a valued medicinal, not only a beloved wildflower. My favorite products, besides the Chamomile shrub and Goldenrod salve, have been the Sweet Surprise Tea and the Lymph Salve but everything has been a treasure to me."
"And the newsletters! You are indeed sharing knowledge, inspiration, and love of plants with your business, and it makes me so happy...to have been a part of this year as it has unfolded as a CSA member."
"My little heart skips a beat when I see the 'TOLFA' package sitting outside me door. I'm also pleased with the simple yet attractive way that your products are packaged and I especially love that your high quality herbs are grown just a state away from me."
