Our herb CSA brings the concept of Community Supported Agriculture into the world of herbal medicine. If you're looking to dabble with herbalism in your own kitchen this year, or just want a regular delivery of some fresh, local and high quality herbs, look no further!
As part of our mission
to connect people with the seasons, plants and non-human nature around them, we are excited offer an herbal CSA in 2017! These herb shares will be made up of the herbs, roots and flowers straight from our farm in Orwigsburg, Pa, and crafted with care in our farm kitchen and apothecary. Each week we strive to create a unique, seasonal herbal bundle that will provide you with a range of flavorful products and wellness support for the whole family. Each share also includes recipes and information about each herb you receive. As our start-up year here at the farm, your CSA purchase helps support our mission to see each and every one of our products through from seed to cup. The herb CSA shares are great for budding herbalists or foodies looking to expand their palette, as well as seasoned herb lovers and gardeners who are looking to delve deeper into the unique medicinal plants of our bioregion. You can buy a membership for yourself or as a gift to someone else!
Each herbal CSA share will include
some of our mainstay and most popular tea blends and tinctures, such as our Ocimum tea blend and Elderberry Syrup. However, we will also be concocting some exclusive, hot-off-the-press items handmade especially for our CSA members, such as rose petal elixir, fresh ginger-turmeric syrup, and more. We hope you'll be tantalized by these concoctions straight from our garden and apothecary! In addition to these ready-made delicacies, the share will also typically include a single dried herb and/or fresh herb bunch that we are especially excited about. In order for you to get the most use out of every single item, we'll include a favorite recipe or technique for you to use with these herbs each week. You can experiment with our recipes and try your own herbal medicine making at home! By the end of the full share CSA, you'll have ten new herbal recipes and a whole medicine cabinet full of farm-fresh herbal goods. Each share will also include a brief newsletter with updates from our farm and apothecary life and seasonal tidbits for your reading pleasure.
